Humble Beginnings
Eggy was laid in a small egg from parents she likely never met, obtained from a store in a land far from her ancestral roots of the near-East to India. I found her online for $25, and she came with a tank and some basic furnishings from a big box pet shop. Despite this, her personality and desire for high art grew alongside each other every day.

Home Improvement
After watching Eggy spend so much time inside a cramped tank with nothing to do, I became inspired to help her get the enrichment she needs to live a fulfilling life. We made her a terrarium, outfitted with rocky walls, live plants, large cavernous hides, and substrate she can grip under her toes. It was glorious and she was the queen of her own ecosystem.

Tragedy Strikes
During her time in her new and improved tank, she slowly stopped eating when previously she would eat us out of house and home. She stopped coming out of her hide and exploring. She stopped opening her eyes as it seems the substrate was a bit irritating to her. As a result, the vet said we needed to take her out of her new home and into a sterile tank with plastic furnishings like before. Heartbreaking news after all that work in efforts to make life better for the poor thing.

An Artistic Renaissance
Put into the new boring tank, her health rapidly improved, but I couldn't imagine that her enrichment did. Paper towel flooring and plastic plants needed something with some personality to breathe new life into her living situation. I started painting right around the time she got put in the new tank, so every new piece I would make would be put behind the glass for her to admire.

Art for Eggy Begins
In order to keep things fresh for her, I plan on changing out her artworks regularly in order to give her a variety of landscapes to enjoy. This portfolio is auctioned and sold from her collection and pieces only become available when she has a new one to replace an old.
